The park is located on the Pacific Ocean and is framed on one side by beautiful sandy beaches and on the other side by lush rainforests, hills and deep valleys. The Manuel Antonio Park itself is 682 hectares in size and is located just a short 132 kilometers from San Jose. Most travel to the area occurs between December and March, as this is the dry season and is perfect for hiking and wildlife watching.
